jon burgerman instore extravaganza

Well, we have just about recovered from last Friday night! What joy and what fun we had. We have to say a big thank you to Mr Jon Burgerman for coming down to the store and doodling all over our windows. The night kicked off at 6pm and we had people queuing up to pick up their goodie bags and purchase some exclusive Jon Burgerman products and to get a glimpse of the man himself in action.

I spent most of Thursday baking and icing cakes ready for the evening, so no one would go hungry (200 in all). I was a very proud baker, none the less, I won’t lie it was a little bit traumatic for me seeing people bite into their little faces. They did taste good though.

We were overwhelmed by all the lovely and super friendly people that came down for the event. It seemed people were going crazy for stuff, and with 10% off who could blame them, they are after all only human. Jon brought in some exclusive stationary only available in Taiwan and now Lazy Oaf. We also have limited edition Jon Burgerman canvases which are at present gracing our walls, and we may also put them on line.

As well as making our windows look fancy Jon spent a lot of time talking to and doodling on peoples sketchbooks and notebooks, which was very nice of him. The event finished at 9pm and after a quick bite of pizza it was off to the pub to relax and celebrate till the small hours with our friends. I seem to recall talking about the golden girls and singing the theme tune for a while and listing my favourite Roxette hits, I must have been drunk. Noel Fielding aka Vince Noir popped over to say hello, which was a little surreal and a bit blurry, ah the fun.

We do have some goodie bags left, we will be putting one in with the next 20 internet orders we receive!
We would very much like to keep doing these events with some of our favourite artists and will keep you all posted about the next one.
