Madonna Inn Tour With Courtney & Dallas
Our Lazy Hotel collection is all about checking into nostalgic escapism, and checking out of reality, and there’s nowhere better to do that than California’s Madonna Inn. And it has a special place in our hearts too, having been the location of Gemma’s (King of Lazy Oaf) honeymoon. With themed rooms and amazing gaudy interiors including a massive hot pink dining room, there’s nowhere better to wear our new pieces, and the elasticated waistband on the pay per view trousers will come in real handy when scoffing your third slice of their famous champagne cake. To live out the fantasy, we sent our good friend Courtney Coll and her pal Dallas on a mini-break at the Madonna Inn, and now they’re giving us the lowdown on their time there.
Hi Courtney and Dallas! Welcome to the Lazy Oaf Hotel, can we take your bags?
C:
SURE CAN!!
We’ve heard you’re hotel hopping and just paid a visit to the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. The famous novelist Umberto Eco said that even he didn’t have the words to describe it - do you?
C: It’s western, fantasy, and lively all in one hotel. Try to imagine that!
Their decor is so seventies you almost expect a serial killer to be sitting at the bar. Any inspo you’re taking back home with you?
C: I personally loved all the mix match stained glass lights, and colors. It was easy to spend time looking around and into all the different rooms.
What was the best thing you ate during your stay? Did the food match the feel of the hotel - we’re thinking salmon mousse, black forest gateau...are we close?
C: LOL BANANA CREAM PIE - it was a crowd hit!
We’ve heard that the Madonna Inn has a giant rock waterfall urinal, did you catch a look?
C: YES, we did, it was wild!!!!!!
What about the hotel’s clientele, bet they’re an interesting bunch, did you get chatting to anyone whilst you were there?
C: We really got along with the waiter, she let us in on all the scoop about the hotel. With it`s long history there are many stories she shared with us!
You looked great in the Lazy Hotel collection, did it help you to feel immersed in the escapist vibe of the hotel? What’s your favourite piece?
S: Yes, we fit right in. When we put the clothing on we automatically knew we were in the right place! I love all patterned pants - so all of those are my FAV!
Now you’ve ticked Madonna Inn off the list, are there any more themed hotels you’re going to visit?
S: Pioneertown Motel in Joshua Tree!!!
If you were to set up your own themed hotel, what would it look like?
S: Lots of colors, live music playing in every room, a trolley that takes you around the land, and a huge slide that connects from one side to another!!!!
Outside of the US, what’s your dream post-panny d destination?
S: GIRAFFE MANOR, KENYA
