See You Next Tuesday: Ices, Elephants and Bronies
Welcome to this weeks latest installment of See You Next Tuesday where the Lazy Oaf team fill you in on the things that have caught our eye or got us talking in the office over the past 7 days. This week we've been practising our bitchy resting faces, shaving giant ice cubes and reminiscing over My Little Pony but not in the way we expected! 1. INTERNET SENSATIONS: That's Bitchy Resting Face. OK we lie, we actually saw the video a couple of weeks ago but it still holds a strong place in our hearts. If you ever get accused of looking pissed off when you're in fact FINE, watch this video put together by comedian Taylor Orci and you might find that you too are blessed/cursed with bitchy resting face. So next time someone tells you to cheer up, remind them it's not your fault, you simply have a case of BRF. Deal with it. 2. FOOD FAVOURITES: Phuc Dat Ho. This weekend the chicken and chips fueled taste buds of Peckham, South London, were treated to a feast far from greasy. The team at Vietnamese street food shack Phuc Dat brought together two of our favourite past times...BBQ's and blasphemy. Meanwhile Ice Kitchen helped the crowd keep their cool with their shaved ice deserts, watch the ice magic happen here. 3. WINDOW SHOPPING: Trunk Dunks. You might have noticed we're a bit addicted to trainers at LO HQ and this weeks our shoe obsession comes in the form of these perfectly pink Elephant Nike ID Air Max 1s. We better stampede over to the Nike Store fast before they're gone for good. Wait are we too late? 4. MEDIA MATTERS: My Little Bronie. Any girl who grew up in the 90s associates My Little Pony with being 6 years old spending hours carefully braiding rainbow/silver pony tails right? Think again. Last week Houston Texas hosted the My Little Pony Convention 2013 heavily populated by a group of 20-30 year old men commonly known as Bronies. For those of you who don't know, Bronie is a term used to describe a fan community of older men (and women) who love to watch the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Highlights from this months convention can be viewed here, turn that sound UP.
