During part of our recent visit to Tokyo we hung out in the Fig & Viper studio with Alisa Ueno, a Tokyo native with an eye for design and passion for pastel. Alisa picked her favourite products from our Spring '14 collection and combined them with items from her very own Fig & Viper label while we shot her in and around the Jingumae district of Tokyo. We decided to quiz Alisa to find out a bit more about herself and her amazing hair... ---------------------- Tell us a bit about yourself: what you do, where you live etc. I'm Alisa Ueno, a creative director for a Japanese female fashion brand FIG&VIPER and a DJ. I was born, raised and still here in Tokyo. You have a great eye for style, how do you go about putting together your outfits? Do you have a vision before you get dressed or just go with the flow? Aww, thank you. I do have a vision of how I want to dress and I'll add accessories to it to make it look more like my kind of style. I like to add lots of flavours to my style but I guess it's all about balance. For example if I'm wearing a deep cut crop top, I would add a choker or if I'm wearing loose fit pants I might just roll up the bottom part to show my ankle. You're the creative director and designer for the label Fig & Viper. What inspires your designs? Taking trips and going abroad! Being the face of the label; do you ever find it hard to balance between being Fig & Viper and being Alisa Ueno? Or do the two come hand-in-hand? Yup, the two come in hand in hand for now. FIG&VIPER = Alisa Ueno, and both are me, but to be honest I want Alisa Ueno to come first! We've noticed you like to change the colour of your hair a lot, what colour is next on your hit list? And what is it about changing the colour of your hair that you love? Haha yes! I really like pink, purple and Rapunzel colors ! I think I'll continue on with these colors, but my mind is always changing. I want to try different colours, so I'm not 100 percent sure about my hair colour for the future. I just love dyed hair, especially pale colours! For the past 2 - 3 years when summer comes, I only think about what colour to add to my hairstyle. You chose our UGLY T-shirt as one of your outfits in our shoot; what do you think is the ugliest thing about the fashion industry? Competing and evaluating other fashion. You get to travel around a lot; what city in the world do you think has the best sense of style? Fashion wise I would definitely choose London, London's fashion is the best!... (But 1st comes Japan) Describe your ultimate night out in Tokyo. Eat with friends, go out clubbing, drink Jäeger and get drunk, going to a friends bar and doing karaoke ! ---------------------- Find out more about Alisa yourself by visiting her Twitter, Instagram and Website.
